I guess I will start off with the first post for this community. I am a 31 yr old mother of 2. I have been happily married since 2000 to a great guy I met in college. My DH recently introduced me to the crunchy conservative thing. It started with Eric Brende's book Better Off. I am currently reading Rod Dreher's Crunchy Cons. Dreher finally puts a name to the philosophy that Jeff and I have been living. We are Catholic attachment parents. We eat organic food, diaper our babies in cloth (when we are not ECing), and use non-violence in our discipline. However, we pray before we eat, go to Mass at least once a week, actively participate in the pro-life movement, and boycott companies who give money to embryonic stem cell research. We expect civility from those around us, but we don't expect not to get offended.
It is hard to raise children in an overly permissive environment. I believe American culture is so media-centric that we count on the media to tell us right from wrong.
