This community was created to discuss the writings of Rod Dreher. It all began with his articles in The National Review. Now he has a book out called Crunchy Cons: How Birkenstocked Burkeans, gun-loving organic gardeners, evangelical free-range farmers, hip homeschooling mamas, right-wing nature lovers, and their diverse tribe of countercultural conservatives plan to save America (or at least the Republican Party). If you want to post to this list, then we suggest you read the book or at least know what crunchy cons are all about.

If you get mean and uncivil, you get off the list. Use your common sense. Stay on topic. I am not saying that you are not entitled to an opinion. There are lots of groups out there, and I am sure you can find the most appropriate forum for your debate. Heck, I created this one because there wasn't a "crunchy con" community one yet.

This blurb is taken from Rod Dreher's blog: http://www.beliefnet.com/blogs/crunchycon/

Rod Dreher is editor of the Sunday commentary section of The Dallas Morning News, and author of "Crunchy Cons" (Crown Forum), a nonfiction book about conservatives, most of them religious, whose faith and political convictions sometimes put them at odds with mainstream conservatives. Born and raised a Methodist in south Louisiana, he converted to Roman Catholicism in 1993.
